Known coverage limits

  • England has every layer. Wales: crime, EPC, sold prices, HPI and coal — but planning.data.gov.uk designation layers are England-only. Scotland / Northern Ireland: separate registers (Police Scotland, Registers of Scotland, LPS) — most layers return nothing, and the report says so.
  • Crime locations are anonymised by the publisher to a nearby street point (roughly ±100 m) and dated to the month only. Greater Manchester Police has multi-year publishing gaps.
  • Planning layers depend on each council publishing to the national platform. An empty layer means "not published or nothing recorded", never a guarantee. Planning applications in particular are published by a minority of councils today.
  • Coal: Development High Risk Areas and coalfield consultation areas are point-in-polygon at the postcode centroid, not the exact title boundary — a CON29M mining report remains the lender-grade document.
  • EPC: England & Wales domestic register; certificates are per address as lodged (up to 10 years old). Without an API token the layer shows clearly labelled SAMPLE data.
  • Sold prices are HM Land Registry Price Paid Data — registered sales only (not asking prices), typically 2–8 weeks behind completion. The UK House Price Index is council-level and lags about two months.
  • Schools: DfE Get Information About Schools. No Ofsted grades are shown because DfE removed single-word grades after the 2024 reform — follow each school's Ofsted link. Catchment areas are set by each admissions authority and are not a radius; distance here is straight-line.
  • A failed upstream call is reported as UNKNOWN for that section — never as "no risk".
